"The assembly got our pupils so inspired around inventing and some STEM Heroes. They learnt a lot too, but most importantly I heard lots of them talking afterwards about how they could become engineers or inventors one day!"
These two assemblies (one for KS1 and one for KS2) are a great way to get all your pupils thinking about inventors, inventions and seeing themselves as inventors of the future.
You can decide whether to use the interactive video assemblies with everything done for you or to use our slides and speaker notes to run the assemblies yourself.
In the assemblies your pupils will take part in a Who Wants to be a Millionaire style game show where we'll learn about how inventions solve problems, fun and whacky real inventions and some more and less well known inventors and their inventions. By the end they'll come away knowing that they could also come up with their own inventions.
With the videos, everything is done for you with places indicated to pause the videos, tips for the assembly facilitator and even display materials to make a display in the school to keep the ideas in children's minds.
The KS1 assembly will take around 20-25 minutes and then KS2 assembly will take around 30-35 minutes in total.
What you get:
You can use the assembly with year/phase groups on their own or with all key stage pupils together. The KS2 assembly could be used for a whole school assembly if younger pupils are able to sit for the time.
*If you want to buy now but not use the assembly until a future term, drop an email to info@inventorsandmakers.com and we'll get you set up for then instead.
