Engineering & Machines Workshop for KS2

This STEM Workshop is perfect to teach your KS2 pupils about engineering and simple machines with hands-on engineering activities building inclined planes and levers as well as a final fun engineering challenge.

They'll also be problem solving, collaborating and thinking creatively as they learn engineering concepts and skills linked to the Design & Technology National Curriculum.

"I couldn't believe how easy it was to use this with my class. We learnt loads and it was really easy for me to set up and lead without having to do anything in advance."

The workshop will take around an hour in total, though it can be made to last longer.

What you get:

  • Video lesson made to be interactive with easy to follow instructions to pause and do activities, meaning all the planning and teaching is done for you.
  • Equipment List with simple resources like string, paper cups and craft sticks.
  • Teacher Information Sheet telling you what we cover, the National Curriculum Links and some follow up ideas to extend the learning.
  • Parent Information Sheet to include parents in their children's learning.

You can use the workshop with as many KS2 classes as you like for a whole school term on your own schedule.
