This workshop focuses on structures as we learn about how engineers have solved problems to make towers taller and bridges longer over time.
It's perfect for all of your KS1 pupils to learn about engineering and the impact of engineering and to take part in hands-on engineering activities.
"The activities were really hands on, engaging and fun. It gave all students an opportunity to get involved."
Children take part in a short tower building challenge and an extended bridge building challenge as they think like engineers to save the day for characters in well-known story.
They'll be problem solving, collaborating and thinking creatively as they learn engineering concepts and skills linked to the Design & Technology National Curriculum as well as cross-curricular links with maths and literacy. You could even link in more about materials to extend the learning into science.
The workshop will take around 60-90 minutes.
