This STEM Workshop is perfect to teach your KS2 pupils about invention and design with hands-on design activities.
"The workshop was pitched at exactly the right level with plenty of hands on fun. It was just the right length too - couldn't fault it."
We start by learning about what inventions are and how they solve problems. We then look at how some famous and not so famous inventors solved problems with their inventions and for our practical activity we work through the design thinking process to come up with our own brand new inventions.
They'll also be problem solving, collaborating and thinking creatively as they learn concepts and skills linked to the Design & Technology National Curriculum.
There are plenty of ideas of how you could incorporate your own topics into the workshop and extend the activities in subsequent lessons too.
The workshop will take around an hour in total, though it can be made to last longer.
